KEEP IT LOCAL by networking with others in your area!
Malama Kaua`i is here to assist in the building of relationships and the sharing of knowledge about community based self-sufficiency through relocalization of our food, energy, goods and services.

Use the town based groups to find others in your area, or ones nearby, then connect and start a project or hold a workshop to meet others that want to take action to better your community. If you don't see your town listed or want to start a new group just let us know by emailing info@malamakauai.org.

Use this site to share your ideas with others and collaborate with everyone so that we can all learn from each others efforts. Post your groups thoughts, docs, pics and videos.

Eco-Friendly surf leashes and board bags from Wavetribe

Hey Everyone- If you surf or know anyone who surf's, there is an eco-friendly alternative for surf leashes and board bags now. Wavetribe makes the worlds first surf leashes made with Recycled Urethane Cord. Their board bags are made with Recycled Reflective Tarp and Hemp materials. I do the Hawaii Sales for Wavetribe and just got their products in Hanalei Surf, Back Door, and Progressive Surf shops on Kauai. Check it out. http://wavetribe.com/

Let's Get Carpooling!

Aloha,

I just joined Malama Kauai hoping that I might find others interested in getting a carpool movement organized on Kauai. I live on the south side and I sit in traffic going in to Lihue every morning. It seems like this would be such an easy place to get carpools organized, but I've had zero luck. I signed up with various carpool websites but didn't get any responses. We're all going east or west on this side of the island. Anyone interested or have any information?
